Conference description

The current economic environment is shrouded in uncertainty over bank crises, future interest rate moves, the war in Ukraine, and above all the looming threat of recession.

Gayle Allard, IE Professor of Economics, will discuss the current short-, medium-and long-term outlook and give some clues to what awaits us in the future, and how it will affect the business outlook.

Gayle Allard's biography

Professor Gayle Allard is a highly renowned economist, holds Master degrees from Johns Hopkins and Monterey Institute of International Studies, as well as a PhD from University of California at Davis.
She has been an Economist at JP Morgan as well as a Research Economist at The Economist Intelligence Unit.

Gayle Allard has published research on labor markets, the welfare state, public-private partnerships and innovation in developing countries, especially in Africa. She developed indicators on labor-market rigidity and the generosity of unemployment benefits that continue to be used by researchers and institutions such as the IMF across many disciplines. And she speaks to the press and contributes to public debate on a wider range of issues that center on how policy can be used most effectively to address human problems.
